Projects

Here's just a few major projects that we have had success with!

POG Project ~ Ongoing

POG stands for “Protect Our Girls.”

Piloted in early 2021 in Ajegunle, the goal of the POG project is to combat maternal mortality and teenage pregnancy in low-income communities in Lagos state. The program is designed to give our girls financial, educational, emotional, and social support as they navigate their pregnancy and early motherhood; affording them access to adequate and timely maternal care. Through our partnership with Dreams From The Slum, we work to create opportunities for these girls to return to school or learn a trade in order to encourage financial independence long-term. We strive to create a community of empowered girls who see more than their situation and are inspired to chase their dreams.

If you would like to partner with us to restore hope and help re-write the outcome of the lives of these girls kindly send an email to hello@rubihealth.org.

PPE Initiative

The RubiHealth Foundation, in collaboration with Kudzu Charity, launched a PPE Initiative to protect first responders of COVID-19 in May 2020. This project aimed to raise funds to purchase PPE for the Lagos State Ministry of Health. We wanted to help our front-line workers who cannot stay at home to stay safe. We launched a 7-day campaign on several social media platforms. This turned out to be a success, and we raised approximately N1,000,000 (one million Naira), which was used to advance the cause against the deadly COVID-19.

The funds raised were used to purchase the following PPE items:

  • 1000 re-usable masks

  • 3000 single-use gloves

  • 40 EU certified face protection shields

Food Drive

In April 2020, TRF courtesy of our donors/sponsors organized COVID-19 relief bags consisting of loaves of bread and eggs for residents in Ifako, Gbagada. We were able to share these with 106 residents in the community.  Due to an extended lockdown enforced by the Nigerian government, we decided to organize another relief package for our immediate community. Over the course of the lockdown, with the help of our sponsors/donors, we distributed grocery bags to over 300 residents in Ifako Gbagada, including those from neighboring communities. The provision bags contained loaves of bread, eggs, sardines, Indomie noodles, cereal pouches, and vegetable oil. We totaled 406 relief bags distributed to residents in the community.
